Come (Come) 04:46
Come, come, come, come into my heart tell me darling, we will never part. I'd like to show you what a woman looks like I'm coming of age, isn't that what you'd like? Fine hairs that settle like dew on wool Beaded caves where my innocence once stood In a frosted globe lays a graveyard of wings I'll mix it with water, paint on the skin The Earth as armour built up from the ground My chin is up, but my guard is down. Come, come, come, come into my heart tell me darling, we will never part. Cause I float like mist through your fingertips Try cup me in your hands I know you can't resist Un-tameable, un-shame-able, take your pick.
I'll be yours when it suits me fine,
And then I'm his and hers again but always mine I'm vulnerable when the timing's right. I metamorphasise into light When the timing's right. I'd like to show you what a woman looks like My body it swells with the rings of time The wind pats my head, the Earth hums A vibration of humans dance on her skin Like a snowflake dressed in light Her colour, it pierces the day into night Like a dove in a storm I'm the one you adore Man wins, but gravity wins more. Come, come, come, come into my heart tell me darling, we will never part.

What comes next when there’s nothing left? What comes next when there’s nothing left? Who’s my emergency contact?
I’ll leave the space blank I guess Your emergency contact
My neighbour what’s her name again Your emergency contact
Can I teach my dog to run for help? Your emergency contact
I live alone don’t rub it in. Here I am it feels I’ve failed again
I tried to bow but I couldn’t bend
The richest girl in the graveyard
I’m walking dead with a beating heart. Who’s your emergency contact?
Well, my son can’t drive he’s only six Your emergency contact?
When your next of kin is sinking tin Your emergency contact?
It’s a loaded question at the least
 Your emergency contact?
When you brother lives across the sea. A beating heart in a metal chest
 A secret code that I couldn’t get
A blinded man who can see for days
Do you love him more when you’re missing him? Your emergency contact?
My father left when I was three
 Your emergency contact?
My mum breaks down in times of stress Your emergency contact?
My boyfriend’s camping in the bush Your emergency contact?
I’m too damn proud to ask for help. What comes next when there’s nothing left?

The longest drives and a desk to write behind Dark wood holds her up from each side And I'm ready to live a quiet life, Yeh, I'm ready, she said, to live the quiet life. You may shield me from the sky But you don't need to keep my ankles dry Cause this umbrella won't last forever And I'm okay with it. I'll start my life when the dust has settled right And I'll flip it up and fill it like a cup We're a dripping mess but we don't need to be the best A relentless storm, I'm now armoured like a bull. You may shield me from the sky But you don't need to keep my ankles dry Cause this umbrella won't last forever And I'm okay with it. Yeh, I'm okay with it. An unfinished line, an artwork built by time A flightless kite, a stagnant satellite I'm an ancient text, a word-of-mouth romance I've seen it all, I know nothing more than this You may shield me from the sky, But you don't need to keep my ankles dry. Cause this umbrella won't last forever And I'm okay with it. Yeh, I'm okay with it. So let it rain down.

about

Birds become visible and audible before the sun rises and the world wakes, a netherworld neither dark nor light, out of time. The anonymous Anglo-Saxon poet of 'The Wanderer had a word for it, ūhta, 'the hour before dawn', as he travelled by winter, watching 'the sea birds bathing, stretching out their wings.'

- The Wanderer via Philip Hoare (The Sea Inside).

about

Jessie L. Warren

The stunning debris of something explosive. Haphazardly thrown together in complete unawareness and amongst all
the crazy, brutal occasion something beautiful is created.
